Why Wakeboarding?
When summer is fast approaching every family has more time to enjoy each other's company. Summer means more time for fun and more time for each other. And what would summer be without going to the beach and enjoying water sports?
Wakeboarding: The New Surfing
Wakeboarding is a sport of the times. A wakeboarder is a person towed behind a boat or a cable skiing lift at a speed of around 18-24 mph. The main difference is that instead of skis, the rider uses a single board, shorter in length and wider than snowboards, with foot bindings.
Wakeboarding is a surface water sport which involves riding a wakeboard over the surface of a body of water behind a boat. It was developed through a combination of water skiing, snowboarding and surfing techniques.
The rider is towed behind a boat or a cable park; typically at speeds of 18-24 miles per hour (29-38 kph), depending on water conditions, rider's weight, board size and most importantly, the rider's personal preference. Wakeboarding can also be performed on a variety of media including closed-course cables, winches, PWCs and ATVs.
